Job Description

Responsible for supporting the production, installation, and upkeep of fleet graphics as well as the construction and assembly of signs from computer cut vinyl.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prep vehicles and other surfaces (walls, windows, etc.) for decal installation.
  • Prep vinyl and substrates for application, which includes weeding, cutting, and masking.
  • Basic use of plotter machine with emphasis on sending files to the plotter to cut numbers out as needed.
  • Follow specifications to install fleet graphics, including documentation of graphics as they are installed and maintained.
  • Assist with track prep vehicles for decal installation. Occasionally wash a car as part of substrate prep.
  • Assist with sold prep for vehicles (removing decals and adhesive).
  • Assist with quality assurance measures pre- and post- installation by accurately reading and interpreting work requests, then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards (bubbles, rough edges, uneven placement, etc.)
  • Install vinyl on blank signs as needed.
  • Keep inventory of marketing assets including brochures, folders, etc. for the Welcome Center’s use.
  • Support department operations by picking up and/or delivering packages to/from Shipping and Receiving. Occasionally pick up deliveries from Rapid Color, off property.
  • Help unload boxes and other items as needed.
  • Occasional assistance with facility events as a helper, runner, shuttle, etc.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of workspace.
  • Will become a functioning asset to the school support department.
  • All other duties assigned by the Marketing Department Manager and/or Supervisor.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with consistent ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent ability to follow instructions and accept constructive criticism.
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools effectively and safely.
  • Ability to read a tape measure. Basic math skills.
  • Comfortable having to occasionally wash a car as part of substrate prep.
  • Comfortable with using a Mac computer Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (basic Outlook and Excel functions)
  • Knowledge of etiquette while working with cars (awareness of surroundings, do not place tools on cars, no belt buckles, etc.)
  • Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly, alone and with others.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and attitude on the part of all employees in areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure all services to members, students, and guests are conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner.
  • Must be 21 years or older to drive off property and work in the clubhouse.

Experience & Education Needed

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Vinyl installation or assistant to a vinyl installer: 1 year (preferred not required).
  • Knowledge of vinyl materials and application techniques (preferred not required).
  • A combination of at least three years of relevant education and experience is required.

General Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions most of the time. Occasionally work must be performed outdoors that can be in the heat and coolness of desert climate.
  • The worker is occasionally subject to races and sports cars. For periods of time there may be fuel and oil smells and noise levels over 110 db.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and understand its meaning.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at the knee to come to a rest on the knee or knees.
  • Lifting: Raising objects of 25 lbs. throughout the days and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Occasional lifting overhead is needed.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
  • Standing: Particularly for extended periods of time.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which detailed or important spoken instructions are conveyed to others accurately and clearly.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long periods of time.
