Morris and Rambo purchased the facility in 2004, with a 2.2-mile track and two storage tents situated on 193 acres. Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club is now the longest racetrack in North America and second-longest in the world at over 9-miles across its 933 acres. It is much more than a racetrack, it is the ultimate driver’s paradise, where anyone can enjoy the wonder of motorsports just outside the neon of Las Vegas. Job Description

Las Vegas has been a focal point for the sport of karting dating back to the late 1990s with many major karting events on purpose built and more recently, temporary circuits around Las Vegas. Today there is no local Las Vegas karting club facility outside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, there has been no central facility for karting in the southern portion of Nevada. The Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club has announced the groundbreaking for the new Spring Mountain Karting facility.  As karting operations ramp up all karting staff will be cross-trained. Able to manage multiple positions on slower days and must be able to focus on one task when needed on busier days. Karting staff will need to be flexible and adaptable.

☐ Release/Responder: Will line karts up and release after checking entire grid to make all driver protocols have been met. Will have eyes on the track when it’s hot and safety respond to a kart or driver in distress or danger.

☐ Rover/Recovery: Will be mobile during a session and will join a responder when needed or may be the responder. Recover or move a disabled kart when the session is over.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative tasks with direct customer contact.
  • Assist guests with loading and unloading.
  • Can problem solve and act in a responsible manner.
  • Ensure that pit, kart shop, and track areas remain clean and safe.
  • Ensure track safety staff run safe, efficient, and professional sessions and races.
  • Hands-on wrenching on karts.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and special projects.
  • Knowledge of facility emergency procedures.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness in your workspace.
  • Maintain supply of tools, machinery, and parts.
  • Maintain track experience and functionality, report concerns to manager.
  • Maintain visual contact with the track and guests.
  • Must be able to push/pull karts, start and stop karts.
  • Perform opening and closing duties to secure equipment and the facility.
  • Respond to off track occurrences, kart-to-kart significant contact, and emergencies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Some individual roles require a mechanical aptitude to diagnose and service karts.
  • Some roles require strong computer skills, being able to use common office equipment and intermediate functional knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel programs.
  • The work schedule is expected to be Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday during the startup phase of operations.
  • Willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed. Manage priorities, develop and follow work procedures.

General Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • The worker is subject to outdoor environmental conditions most of the time that can be in the heat, coolness, rain/snow, and winds of our desert climate.
  • The worker is occasionally subject to races and sports cars. For periods of time there may be fuel and oil smells and noise levels over 110 db.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and understand its meaning.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at the knee to come to a rest on the knee or knees.
  • Lifting: Raising objects of 25 lbs. throughout the days and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Occasional lifting overhead is needed.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
  • Standing: Particularly for extended periods of time.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately and clearly.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long periods of time.
